Gail P. Forest, a member of the Senior Executive
Service, is Associate Director for Air Platforms, Air Force Research
Laboratory, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. She is responsible
for the corporate integration of hypersonic, fixed wing and rotary wing
aircraft technologies throughout the Air Force science and technology
portfolio. Additionally, she serves as the chair of the Defense
Technology Reliance Area in Air Platforms and ensures advanced aircraft
technologies are infused into the U.S. industrial base in order to meet
future defense needs.
Ms. Forest began her career as a manufacturing engineer with Buick
Motor Division, General Motors Corporation. In 1982, she entered
federal civil service as an engineer in the Maintenance Directorate at
Headquarters Air Force Logistics Command. She has held numerous
engineering, logistics, and acquisition program management positions.
Prior to her current assignment, Ms. Forest was the Deputy Director,
Munitions Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Eglin AFB, Fla.
In that position, she managed the daily operations of more than 500
scientists and engineers developing air-launched conventional munitions
technology.
